Tubular Nylon Webbing:

This week we are shining our spotlight on tubular nylon webbing. This item is comparable in strength to flat nylon webbing, but with some beneficial differences. Tubular nylon webbing is, as the name implies, a nylon hollow tube which makes it softer and more pliable that flat webbing. It is as strong, if not stronger, than flat webbing with a tensile strength of approximately 4,000 lbs. in the 1” width, 7,000 lbs. in the 2” width. (These numbers vary depending on each manufacturer.) Another advantage of tubular webbing is that it ties in knots easier than flat nylon webbing. Tubular webbing will hold the knot tighter without slipping.

Then when ready to untie the knot, it unties easily – no matter how much pressure was put on the knot. It is also abrasion resistant and very durable. These facts explain why this product is widely used by climbers, skydivers, furniture makers and the military.Tubular nylon webbing is also used in rafting, kayaking and camping, as well as straps on backpacks, harnesses, collars and slings. Since it is a hollow, nylon tube, it can be used as a protective covering for cables, tubes, hoses and cords.
